Businesswoman arrested for trafficking in cocaine

Lusaka, Wednesday 10th March 2010.


The Drug Enforcement Commission has arrested a 27 year businesswoman for trafficking in 30 pellets of pure grade cocaine.

Rozana Kunda, was arrested from the Lusaka International Airport on her arrival from New Delhi India aboard a Kenyan Airways flight number 724.

Ms. Kunda, a resident of Ndeke village in Kitwe swallowed the cocaine pellets as a mode of concealment.

She is currently detained in Police custody and is scheduled to appear in court today.

Others arrested in separate incidents for cocaine trafficking is Mwamba Muyaya, 40, who was arrested from Chawama township when he attempted to sale the narcotic drugs to some people.

Mr. Muyaya is a mastermind for cocaine supply in Lusaka and had been elusive for some time. 

His arrest is significant as it is expected to lead to other positive developments in the fight against drug trafficking.
